Dr. Thomas D. Edmonds, owner and founder of Hickman Veterinary Hospital, is a University of Georgia graduate who works on both large and small animals. He enjoys the variety of animals and situations that arise in a rural practice, surgery of all types, and the challenge of diagnosing unusual illness and injury.
Dr. Edmonds is a past president of the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce and is also a former Hickman County School Board member. In addition, he is a former member of the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
Dr. Edmonds enjoys bicycling and bird hunting. He raises cattle and tends hay with his son and son-in-law when not working.
Dr. Kim Heyning grew up in Memphis, TN where she graduated from Memphis State University with an undergraduate degree in Biology. She worked for the State of Tennessee as an Environmental Specialist for 5 years before going to vet school. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2002.
Dr. Heyning worked in Maryville for 1 year after graduation and later moved to Spring Hill, TN where she worked for 3 years. Dr. Heyning has been with Hickman Veterinary Hospital since May 2006.
Dr. Heyning's hobbies include running, reading, fishing, hiking, skeet shooting, and spending time with her 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 goats, and 3 horses.
